Back to LIFE!!

Wowzers!

I have let this little blog go a long time without any activity! Honestly, it has come to mind a few times over the last 5 years. I just haven’t had the time or thought process to write anything…until NOW!

(Mexico, Feb 2018)

Why now?

Well, first of all, I really want to document our family time for us to look back on and remember and see all that the Lord has done for us. If we don’t write it down, then we so easily forget. We so easily think that God has not been with us…when He’s been here the whole time! Secondly, we are about to have a very exciting and adventurous summer! We’re going to SPAIN! Along the way I want to share our favorite activities, write about our favorite eateries, and tell our stories along the way! I know it’s not going to be easy to travel with 3 kids (and a husband who will be working most of the time), but if you know me, then you know I will do pretty much anything to make incredible memories with my family.

(Easter 2014)

We have all grown so much in the last 5 years. It breaks my heart a little to look back on the blog and see those sweet little baby faces! (I should say that I do have documentation of Ryker’s baby/toddler years that I wish was here…I might need to post these along the way πŸ˜„) I really am looking forward to sharing all of our many adventures with you…if anyone is out there reading this! Ha!

Hazelisms

Our sweet middle child has been growing fast! It has made me realize that I often overlook monuments in her life. She is the middle child after all – and I know what that is like! My own understand has caused me to empathize… with her and with my own parents. Life is crazy busy with three kids. So I’m going to take a minute here and reflect on my middle gift.

Things I always want to remember hearing her say:
“Hotowel” – hotel
“Hanitizer” – hand sanitizer
“Wiper towel” – paper towel
“Permanarker” – permanent marker
“zizzors” – scissors

Watching her heart grow closer to the Lord (while playing outside):

“Mom, the coolest thing JUST happened! I whistled! I just said ‘Lord, I want to whistle right now’ and I did! Watch this!”

“Ok God. Don’t put these spider webs anywhere! Just put them in outer space or something.” I have no idea where she gets her spider phobia from ;)

My sweet Hazel brings so much joy to our family! I’m sure there will be many more stories to document throughout the years :)

SCHOOL!

September 4th, 2013 | | |

This has all been so exciting and overwhelming, but here we are! School has started!

These two have been so excited to get started! Not one tear was shed today…ok, maybe I shed a couple…but the girls were so brave and so grown up! I really can’t believe we are doing this! And…here I am sitting in a quiet house while Ryker naps! I hardly know what to do with myself.

Oh, my sweet Raven! She has been looking forward to Kindergarten all summer! In the last few months she has really come out of her shy shell and really shown how brave she can (and wants!) to be! We visited her school yesterday for the ‘Treasure Hunt Adventure’ finding all sorts of treasures…her teacher, her desk, her cubbie where she hangs her backpack, and putting away all of the treasures that she brought (school supplies). When I was talking with her about today I asked her if she would want me to walk her to her classroom for the first day to help her get settled and find her desk again. She said, “No, its ok Mom. You can just drop me off.” So I did. She just put her backpack on, hopped out of the car and off she went. I don’t think she knows what she is in for when it comes to full day Kindergarten, but I am so glad she is happy to go!

Then there is this little munchkie! She was a little nervous, but I think it helped that we sent Raven off to school first. She has been hearing all about Little Feats School from her big sister, so she knows a little bit about what to expect. As we were driving from Kings to Little Feats she seemed a little nervous about me dropping her off and asked if someone was going to come get her from the car (like Raven’s carpool). After assuring her that I would walk her in, she looked so relieved. Once we got there she was a bit timid, holding onto my leg and sticking close. As soon as we got her all checked in and washed her hands, we saw her teacher and she walked right into her room!

I am so proud of my big girls! The tears are such a happy feeling – watching them grow up to be independent. to make their own friends. to learn from their teachers. I am releasing them into the world, praying that the Lord with be with them to guide them and instruct them well. Praying for their teachers as they spend so much time with our kids. Man do I love these sweet little beauties!

Preschool

February 28th, 2013 |

I still can’t believe we are in this school age with our kids. I just signed up Hazel for Preschool (she will be there for two years), and we are working on an application for Raven’s Kindergarten! I am probably way more nervous about this than she is. We decided on private school, which is further away from our house. She is also going to have to make all new friends there. We have been so blessed with wonderful friendships close by. Some of them will be going to the same school together, but as far as I know, none of them will be going to private school with her. We keep praying.
Kindergarten is also full day around here…I think I’m actually going to miss her! I really didn’t think I would feel that way, but I do. Its a long day for such a little girl to be away from home…even if she did stop napping when she was 2.
Anyways, too cute not to share…Raven’s preschool photo.

I guess I should have checked her hair before I dropped her off :)

Disneyland!!

March 13th, 2012 | | | | | |

I can’t believe that this trip was weeks ago! Where does the time go?
The girls and I flew down early, and Matt flew down after work that night.

This is how ridiculous I looked walking through the airport with all of our stuff. Traveling with kids is a great workout!
Once we got to the hotel, we just relaxed by the pool! So fun!

We had a really great vacation! The girls did really well (thanks to everyone who was praying!), and we all had fun!

Our good camera broke, so our pictures aren’t the best…but they captured the memories just fine :) This was my first time to Disneyland too! I have been to Disneyworld, once. I want to do this every year! We’ll see if I can talk Matt into it!

I think we could probably twist his arm.

Micky Mouse's chair

First roller coaster

Mickey Mouse

Train

Sweet faces

Silly faces

We waited in line for over an hour to meet the princesses. Then we spent maybe 30 seconds with each one. Both girls said later that this was their favorite part of Disney.

I think Hazel won them all over! She first told Cinderella that her name is Princess, and by the time we made it to Princess Aurora her name had changed to Rapunzel. Her silliness has really been starting to come out! They were both so cute and star struck!

Its hard to believe all of this happened in one day!

After Disneyland, we took a day off to swim in the pool and hang out by the hotel. The next day we rented a car and drove to Phoenix, AZ! We have friends who recently moved there, so the girls were excited to see their little friend!

We went to this cool playground with a little train and a carousel. The girls had so much fun! We also went swimming late that day…also very fun! I liked the sunshine and the warmth!

Vacations are getting more and more fun as the girls get older…and I love vacations! Looking forward to the next…

Happy Valentine’s Day!

February 13th, 2012 | |

We have been making valentines all week! It really does take that long for us to do 20 valentines. Hopefully next year I can be a bit more organized and finish everything in a day (that might be too lofty a goal, but we’ll have to wait and see).
I’ve also been making heart crayons!

I found them on this blog.
Here are a few of my photos…

Also, Raven has been taking pictures with my phone. Here are a couple shots from her perspective…

Happy Valentines Day everyone!
